WEIGHTLIFTING TECHNICAL COURSE BRUNEI

The Brunei Darussalam National Weightlifting Association has organized the Weightlifting Technical Course 2025 which held from 19 to 22 June 2025 at the Conference Hall, Sports School, Brunei Darussalam.


The course combined with Theory and Practical, also supported by the Brunei Department of Youth and Sports and the South East Asian Weightlifting Federation (SEAWF). The key SEAWF lecturers are: 1) Dr. Sirilak Thatman - IWF EB, AWF TC and SEAWF General Secretary 2) Mr.Tom Liaw YJ – Vice President Commonwealth Weightlifting, Vice President SEAWF and President of Singapore Weightlifting Federation. In addition, the course conducted by Mr. Muhd Hadi Dinie Abd Rahman Vice President BDNWA,Executive Member Commonwealth Weightlifting, SEAWF C&R Committee Member.

Present at the course opening ceremony was the Acting Deputy Principal of the Sports Division, Sports School, Aminuddin bin Jumat. A total of 14 participants joined the course, including Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz. The main objective is to recruit more technical officials for the weightlifting sport in long term. The TOs may learn technique, knowledge, IWF TCRR and updated information, also they could apply this experiences as the guidance to qualify and recognized by the IWF accordingly. This is also a part of preparation the officials to be ready for the coming 2025 SEA Games in Thailand.
