Lao Weightlifting Federation (LWF), incorporation with the Ministry of Education and Sport organized had organized the Seminar on Organizing the Weightlifting Competition during 27th – 28th December 2024 at the National Sport Institute in Vientiane, Lao PDR by supported fund from the 2024 IWF Development Program. This seminar has main purpose to prepare officials to be ready for organizing the weightlifting competitions in the 2025 National Games. The participants are key persons consisted of ITOs, former lifters, trainers and volunteers who are familiar with the weightlifting sport.
The seminar had conducted by two Thai experts, Dr.Niwat Limsuknirun, SEAWF President, AWF Executive Board Member and TAWA Vice President, and Mr.Phurich Bhumpanich, SEAWF International Coordinator, also they were recognized by the IWF as program lecturers. In this seminar, the participants had learnt basic technical and managerial knowledge and skills in organizing the national weightlifting competition. They also know how to arrange the competition venue equipment and related documents in the event, combining between theory and practices.
Dr.Niwat, SEAWF President, said “This seminar is good opportunity as key step to develop Lao weightlifting. The participants were enthusiastic about learning new knowledge and pleased to exchange their opinions each other. I am sure that they could apply this valuable experiences to organize the national games in 2025. Also, it would be better if they have a chance to visit Thailand, to get more experiences from the real competitions.”
